Sustainable Harvest: Our Hydroponic Pride 8th grade

On December 11th, 2025, our school filled with excitement as 8th-grade studentsproudly presented their event, “Sustainable Harvest: Our Hydroponic Pride.”Students showcased the impressive results of their hydroponic project.Congratulations to Angélica Daniela Carrión Sosa, Juan José Lazo, Melina Noa Muñoz Quintasi, and Maricielo Gallegos Aranda for representing their sections! Guided by Science teachers Rosario Ramos Ramos and Cecilia  Anticona Trujillo.

The project achieved two full lettuce harvests in just half a year, thanks to the

students’ hands-on work: planting, transplanting, and participating in daily watering cycles. Each harvest was completed in only six weeks, highlighting the efficiency of hydroponic systems.

The event emphasized the goal of producing food using fewer resources—saving water, maximizing space, and avoiding pesticides—while contributing positively to the environment through oxygen production and the reduction of greenhouse gases.

A proud moment for our 8th graders and their commitment to sustainable science!
