Hola… Perú podría tener un nuevo beato, se trata del fraile agustino: Diego Ortiz, quien fiel a su fe murió martirizado a manos del pueblo. Con la finalidad de difundir su historia de vida, la Orden de San Agustín, Provincia de Nuestra Señora de Gracia, ha preparado una serie de actividades en la ciudad de Cusco.
El día 25 de mayo, a las 10:00 a.m., se oficiará una misa presidida por el Obispo de Cusco, Monseñor Richard Daniel Alarcón Urrutia, donde los fieles católicos pedirán por la beatificación del fraile, cabe resaltar que esta misa es abierta para el público en general. Además, a las 11:30 a.m. se realizará la presentación del libro “Fr. Diego Ortiz. El misionero fiel”, novela histórica realizada por Fr. Gustavo Moreno Ulloa, OSA, que intenta contar la biografía del fraile agustino y misionero del siglo XVI y sus pasos por la zona de Vilcabamba en Cusco.
El “Siervo de Dios”, Fray Diego Ortiz, fue un fraile agustino que evangelizó a las poblaciones de Yanacachi, Capiñora y el Cuzco, entre los años 1563 y 1566. Durante su etapa de evangelización en Vilcabamba el fraile tenía discordancias con el Inca Cusitito, debido a los actos inmorales que este cometía. Luego de que el Inca muriera a causa de sus excesos, el pueblo le pidió a Fray Diego Ortiz que lo reviviera y, como no lo hizo, lo condenaron a muerte.
Proceso de beatificación: En 1996-1998 el Vaticano reconoció a Fray Diego Ortiz como “Siervo de Dios”, primera etapa del proceso de Beatificación. Ante esto, el Postulador General de la Orden de San Agustín, Josef Sciberras señaló que está preparando la “Positio Super Martyrio”, presentación racional de las pruebas (de testigos y documentos) sobre el martirio del Siervo de Dios. Eso significa que se encuentren suficientes pruebas, más allá de cualquier duda humana, que Fr. Ortiz fue martirizado in odium fideí, es decir, que haya un perseguidor que real y materialmente mata al Siervo de Dios en odio a la fe o a alguna virtud de la vida cristiana.
Si los peritos de la Congregación para la Causa de los Santos reconocen el martirio, el Santo Padre dicta el decreto en el que se reconoce su beatificación. Una vez beatificado a causa de su martirio, si se confirma un milagro, pasaría a ser canonizado y se convertiría en el primer santo agustino en el Perú.
“Fr. Diego Ortiz. El misionero fiel”, cuenta con 85 páginas de fácil lectura y está dirigido para el público en general.
